My Three Little Witches

My good friend Janette, who is also an amazing photographer, suggested we head to Gardener Village for costume pictures as their Halloween theme is witches. These are some of photo's that resulted from that trip.

Boo at the Zoo!

Every year we meet up with Jon's brother, wife and our girls only cousins for trick or treating at the zoo. It's essentially 100's of kids in costumes, lots of businesses handing out candy, and animals. What more could a kid want :)

Homeward Bound

After a quick family pic at the airport it was time to go. The flight home was, well not good. It was a 9pm flight and after three days of travel and activity I figured Hannah would be beat and crap right out, I was so very, very wrong. She was pleasant for about and hour then cried inconsolably while I futilely tried to console her. She finally drifted off about 45 minutes prior to landing, lucky for me she was good and asleep, unlucky for me I now had to carry her good and asleep and our luggage through the airport. Funny, well I guess not funny but during the flight the attendants came on the intercom asking if there was a Dr. on the plane. I thought this was a movie myth, guess not.

The Ellis's

Meeting Jesika, Toby and Margo was fantastic, everyone got along great and now I have a voice to go with the words I read. We went out for some delicious Mexican food Saturday night and were treated to the "quintessential Indiana breakfast" of sausage gravy over biscuits and cheesy eggs the next morning. After some more chit chat we headed to the park so the girls could play. Slides and swings later Hannah's busy travel days caught up with her and she was melting down, we decided this was a perfect time to head out. We had great fun and hope to meet up again but this time with Chloe and Lucy in tow.

To Evansville we go!

On Saturday we ventured off to Evansville Indiana to meet my friend Jesika, her husband Toby and their glorious little girl Margo. I met Jesika on Babyfit Dec-ish of 2006 but had never actually physically met or spoken to her, Jon and I agreed a three hour drive was well worth the meeting so off we went. In and out of Indiana and Kentucky we weaved on tree lined highways, the drive was beautiful and a little amusing. The state park Big Bone Lick sparked 45miles of jokes from Jon especially when we discovered you take Beaver Rd to get there. Hannah didn't enjoy the ride as much.

Cincinnati and other states

On Oct 10th Hani and I embarked on a journey to Cincinnati to visit Jon and a friend of mine. The flight out was scheduled during nap time and I woke Hani up early to ensure a peaceful snoozing flight. When we arrived at the airport we had not eaten yet so I indulged in my favorite airport treat Cinnabon. This was Hannah's first taste of Cinnabon and I learned very quickly she liked it, if I put down the fork she SCREAMED at me. I got one bite to every two or three of hers, I think she ate half. Well with a belly full of carmel pecan goodness and being prime nap time you'd think the flight would be a breeze but she was wide awake and wanting to move. Even though I had a bag full of treats and new toys she spent most of the flight in the aisle. The woman in the seat across from me was terribly baby hungry and thought Hani was the cutest little thing ever so didn't mind Hannah coming to visit her. We made several trips walking up and down the aisle and to the bathroom, which for some reason was Hannah's favorite part of the flight. Finally 30 minutes or so before landing she finally fell asleep.

BabyFit

When I first learned I was pregnant with Hannah I, in some search or another, came across a website called BabyFit. It houses chat forums for all stages of pregnancy and motherhood, being due in August I joined the Aug 2007 mommies. Pretty quickly a few people gained my attention and I began to follow their comments. Some people I followed because they were full of whit and sarcasm and others because I couldn't believe that someone that stupid was soon going to be responsible for another human being. Well in May 2007 one of the ladies became fed up with all the negativity sloshing around and started a private team. I was one a lucky few to be invited to join and since then the nine of us have become incredibly close. The support through the end of the pregnancies and this first year has been more important then I ever could have imagined.
I mention this because I'm know Jesika, Summer, Maddie, Sara, Donnette, Shannon, Melissa and Jess will find their way into this blog :)

Cincinnati

Jon is in Cincinnati on business, has been since early September. He's home every other weekend and calls daily. Well this weekend instead of him coming home Hannah and I are going to visit him. Three hours on a plane with a 14mo ought to be fun, here's hoping she naps. Anyway,  an online friend lives in Evansville a few hours away so we will be visiting her family as well. It should be fun and we are all looking forward to it. Off to pack :)

School Lunch

So Chloe has decided she MUST have school lunch on Tuesdays as this is pizza day. I figure hey why not, one less lunch to make right? As usual,  yesterday evening we chatted about her day...

Me - How was your day today?
Chloe - Good!
Me - How was lunch?
Chloe - Really good!
Me - Yeah, what did you have?
Chloe - Pizza, pudding, a snack with marshmallows, chocolate chips and rice crispies, and chocolate milk.
Me - (a little stunned) Did you have any fruit? Did you have anything healthy?
Chloe - Well the milk was low-fat.

Lulu logic

So today I was putting a fresh ball of bread dough into the pan to cook and Lucy, of course, was right there to assist me. Well we began to discuss the oven as she was concerned I would fall inside, I asked her if she would save me if I did and she quickly said no. She then informed me she would cook me till I turned into a chicken then she would eat me. I asked her why she wouldn't save me and she said it was because she loves chicken :)
