Ear update

Well took Hani in for her follow up and everything is great, little pudger is 21 lbs 15 oz and there is no visible infection. Her ruptured drum healed in record time and has no signs of scaring. The only bad news is no cold can go untreated, she went from runny nose to rupture drum in 4 days, we cannot allow that to continue. From now on she is to be given cold and allergy medication at first signs, a medicine mom I must be :(

So Hannah has a nasty ear infection, so nasty her right eardrum ruptured. Her left ear drum was so swollen and red the Dr.'s were not sure if the penicillin would act fast enough to stop that one from rupturing as well. Hannah has no fever and is running around giggling, she's a tad clingy but all 4 eye teeth have decided to emerge at once so clingy is acceptable. She showed no signs of trouble, none at all till the puss began to leak from her ear. She is a few days down on her meds and it seems we caught the other ear in time or so I assume since nothing is oozing. She has a follow-up apt in two weeks to make sure the infection is all cleared up. This could make for an interesting childhood since she either doesn't notice or doesn't care when her ears hurt

Two weeks have passed, the cone is gone, the dog is free!
